The Spanish Enrichment Program Curriculum capitalizes on children’s natural curiosity and their tendency to play, imagine, and explore, in order to introduce a second language.
Language is introduced directly and indirectly through hands-on games, craft and cultural activities that teach students words and phrases they can use in their everyday life ~ "I want water, please" "What is that", or "Look, it's a dog."
The simplicity of the language and the hands-on activities allow students to engage in the learning process in a manner that effectively breaks through those affective filters that can make learning a second language challenging. | continued next page.
